Our Attorneys
The firm’s founder has over thirty years of experience as a litigator. Mr. Sternbach is a 1983 graduate of Stanford Law School. He was educated at Columbia University, where he graduated summa cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Sternbach also holds a Ph.D. in English language and literature from Yale University. Mr. Sternbach was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1984. In addition, he is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.
Prior to founding the firm in 1994, Mr. Sternbach was a litigator in the law firm of Shea & Gould, where he specialized in complex commercial litigation, including professional malpractice and real-estate related litigation. Mr. Sternbach has litigated numerous matters on behalf of some of the largest real estate organizations in the United States, a “big four” accounting firm, a major management consulting firm, a national title insurance company, residential cooperative corporations, commercial importers, a diverse group of small-to-medium sized businesses, and many individuals.
Todd Lawlor is a Partner in the Firm. In addition to his extensive work for some of the largest and most successful commercial property owners in New York, Mr. Lawlor serves as primary outside counsel to Parasol Structures, Inc., a leading solar carport design and construction firm.
For over twenty years, Mr. Lawlor has also represented individuals in the purchase and sale of residential real estate, in Westchester County and New York City.
Mr. Lawlor received his B.A. in 1991 from Denison University and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1995. A former clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. Moyer, Chief Justice for the Supreme Court of the State of Ohio, Mr. Lawlor is admitted to practice in New York and Ohio. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Southern District of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Anthony Rella is a Partner in the Firm. Mr. Rella has worked on matters for clients including commercial landlords, small businesses, web-designers, transportation and logistics companies, state and local governments, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers, rock bands, writers, and quilt makers. His work has encompassed a broad spectrum of practice before all levels of New York State Courts, Federal District Courts and Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Rella received his B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991 where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and received his J.D. from Columbia University in 1994. Formerly an associate in the litigation department of Cravath, Swaine & Moore in Manhattan and a law clerk to the Honorable Eduardo C. Robreno, United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Mr. Rella is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
